Bathsheba
Crashing waves, rockpools & lunch
Breezy Bathsheba is a laidback fishing village on the wild Atlantic East Coast. The giant boulders that pepper the shoreline form a dramatic landscape, especially when backed by huge crashing waves, at certain times of the year.
This is Barbados’ top, internationally renowned surfing destination, known as the “Soup Bowl”. But most visitors come to stroll along the pebble-strewn beach or paddle in the rock-pools at low tide. Bathsheba is also the perfect picnic spot.
Alternatively, linger over lunch at one of several local restaurants, where you can soak up the spectacular ocean views. Although swimming is too dangerous, at low tide you can happily loll in the tidal pools just below the Round House, at the northern end of the beach.
