Hunte's Gardens
A manicured tropical oasis
This ornamental tropical garden on reclaimed plantation land is packed with plants that have been carefully curated.
Its precise lawns, playful water features and Buddhas galore are enclosed by lofty palms, though the piped classical music is not to everyone’s taste. The range of plants is not as extensive as in Andromeda Gardens or the Flower Forest, but the gardens are beautiful and immaculately kept, with plenty of secluded seating, where you can soak up the serenity.
Refreshments are available for purchase on the patio at the home of the larger-than-life eccentric owner, Mr Hunte. He is often present to entertain visitors, which adds to the overall experience for some. A stroll down to Velma’s Place is a good lunch choice.
Note: The gardens are not wheelchair accessible – there are 60 steps in total.
