Rascals
Bar & beach sports (l,d; $)
Being the only bar on dazzling Brandon’s Beach, just north of Bridgetown, Rascals is always buzzing with life at weekends. While the sand is pristine, the view is not the best (with the port in view to your left).
Prices are average for the beach – BD$7 for a Banks, and BD$18 for a daiquiri or mojito, BD$20 for a roti.
The Saturday pudding and souse and Sunday BBQs are also popular, and there’s occasional live music in high season. And while you can happily lime away the afternoon, the more energetic should join in the beach volleyball.
The bar also now manages a large waterpark offshore, which has simultaneously been hailed as fantastic family entertainment and a floating eyesore – you decide. A variety of day passes are available, which can include beach chairs, umbrellas and welcome drinks.
Brandon’s Beach on the Mighty Grynner (Spring Garden) Highway, 1.6 miles (3km) north of Bridgetown.
There are no direct buses, but ZR4 from Princess Alice Bus Terminal can drop you at the back of the Mount Gay Visitor Centre, from where it’s a 5–10-min walk.
Mon–Thur 10am–6pm, Fri 10am–10pm, Sat & Sun 10am–8pm.
