Nikola Tesla Experience Center

Tribute to the great inventor

This engrossing multi-media attraction is devoted to the American inventor of Serbian-Croatian descent Nikola Tesla, who was once a pupil at Karlovac high school and is therefore considered part and parcel of the local heritage. Tesla is primarily known for introducing AC electrical current, along with his advances in the fields of radio waves, remote-control devices, electric power supplies and all manner of electric motors.

Planned very much as a family attraction, the centre will suit tablet-literate kids, with its succession of interactive games, quizzes, projections and films.

The centre paints a convincing picture of the young Tesla (a film of his childhood is narrated by an actress playing his mum), and concentrates on his personality and his eccentricities in an engaging way.

For a rounder picture of Tesla the scientist and inventor, its probably best to combine a visit here with one to the Nikola Tesla Memorial Centre at Smiljan or the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum in Zagreb.
