Torbay
Dubbed the English Riviera, thanks to palm trees, scores of beaches and miles of shore, Torbay sits on the edge of south Devon. Its coast is so important geologically that it’s been designated a Global Geopark by UNESCO.
Torbay – the district – lines the shores of Tor Bay, a 4.5 mile wide expanse of sea. It’s made up of three separate resorts.
Torquay
Torquay is a classic Victorian tourist town. Its inner harbour is edged by cafes and souvenir shops, villas and apartments line the hills.
Torquay’s highlights include Babbacombe’s vintage Cliff Railway and quirky Model Village, and the vast network of caves at Kent’s Cavern.
