Bryher

An 80 strong island community

Bryher quay

Tiny Bryher has a dual personality. The island’s sheltered eastern shore faces Tresco across a slender channel. The exposed western shore bears the full force of storms – in raging wind and waves Hell Bay can feel appropriately named.

Sights & Activities

Bryher’s biggest appeal is simply exploring the island – strolling sandy beaches, discovering the granite stacks at Shipman Head, finding your favourite island place name – perhaps Droopy Nose Point, Buzza Rock or Stinking Porth.

Hut 62 rents motor and sailing boats, sit-on-top kayaks, SUPs and a kind of kayak-meets-canoe with a transparent hull – perfect for aquatic explorations.

Sleeping, Eating & Drinking

Bryher is home to the superb Island Fish shop, the luxurious Hell Bay Hotel and Crab Shack bistro.

The Bryher Shop is at the centre of island life. Also look out for stalls set out by locals selling eggs, veg and fudge.
