Kids & Families

The Dordogne and Quercy are ideal locations for family holidays with several water parks spread across the region (see Practical Information).

There are castles aplenty and Castelnaud in particular is ideal for youngsters with its museum of medieval warfare. Gabarre trips are available on the Dordogne River but if you prefer to paddle your own canoe you can do this too on both main rivers.

At Rocamadour in the Quercy you have a choice of two animal parks - one with monkeys and the other with birds of prey. Not far away, at the Gouffre de Padirac, you can descend by elevator into a hole in the earth and take a boat trip through a magnificent underground cavern.
