Blickling Hall
Jacobean mansion
Owned by the National Trust, Blickling Hall is a Jacobean mansion built on the site of an earlier property originally owned by the Boleyn family whose daughter Anne became Henry VIII’s second wife.
Visitors can explore a series of fully furnished grand rooms, kitchens and state bedrooms. There are numerous unusual items such as the wallpaper filled with Chinese designs in the Chinese room and the plasterwork ornamenting the ceiling in the Long Gallery which is 123 feet long.
Large collections of antique furniture, paintings and porcelain are on view.
The Estate
The Estate parkland covers over 4,600 acres and there are extensive walking paths and waymarked walks throughout the fields, parkland and woodland.
Surrounding the house are formal gardens which include flowerbeds, a Parterre, woodland, topiary and a Walled Kitchen Garden. An unusual feature are the two secret tunnels to be discovered - a popular family pastime especially since the larger tunnel includes tree stump seats.
