Norfolk

Yachting on Horsey Mere in late summer afternoon

With 90 miles (increasing to 93 when the tide is out), Norfolk has largest stretch of coastline in East Anglia. Much of this is simply windswept beaches apart from a few towns like Cromer, Hunstanton and Great Yarmouth which were developed by the Victorians as holiday resorts.

The biggest of the East of England counties, Norfolk is predominantly rural offering lots of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors especially the coast, the flat Fenlands, farming and heritage areas like Blickling Hall and Holkham Hall as well as the Broads, an internationally significant wetland perfect for boating holidays.

The main urban centres are Norwich, Kings Lynn and Great Yarmouth.
