Norwich
Located on the River Wensum, the city of Norwich is Norfolk’s county town. A busy, compact city, it has the largest permanent open air market in the country. With two large shopping centres, and a strong network of independent retailers mainly situated around the Norwich Lanes, plus an extensive restaurant, pub and takeaway offer, Norwich has much to offer visitors.
Medieval
The city is one of the most complete medieval cities in the UK with many historic buildings, and the quiet Cathedral quarter leading down to the river. There are two cathedrals - the medieval Anglican Norwich Cathedral and the Victorian gothic Roman Catholic Cathedral of St John the Baptist. Elm Hill’s cobbled streets are a popular filming location, starring in numerous films such as Stardust.
