Norwich Theatres & Cinemas

Good selection

There are lots of entertainment venues in Norwich. Live Theatre is very much in evidence, with the Theatre Royal being the largest venue regularly hosting musicals, ballet, dance and drama including West End touring shows.

There are two smaller theatres - the Playhouse which offers a selection of smaller touring shows as well as local drama companies, and the distinctive Elizabethan MadderMarket complete with its own ghost who has been known to turn up to watch plays! Pantomines are held in all three venues every December.

The Waterfront is a popular music venue, as well as the Student’s Union over at the University of East Anglia.

Multiscreen cinemas can be found at Cineworld on Riverside, and at the Castle Quarter shopping mall.

A smaller three screen Picturehouse art style screenings are available at Cinema City in St Andrews Street.
