Kessingland
Wild uncrowded beach
A long sand and shingle beach backed by low cliffs on the eastern coast of Suffolk. A relatively wild beach, with a rural location that rarely feels crowded.
Swimming and water sports such as wind surfing are popular in this area, and it is a great walking area. Benacre nature reserve is located at the southern end of the beach, and attracts a wide range of bird life - there may be restrictions on access during the breeding season, especially if you have dogs with you. A dog friendly beach, with long areas in which to run but must be kept under control in the vicinity of the nature reserve.
There are several cafes within the village, and there is an adjacent caravan park.
Kessingland can be reached via the A12. Toilets and Parking are available in Church Road, adjacent to the beach in Kessingland. Beach access is via a short flight of steps.
