Miles of open spaces make Dunstable Downs a fantastic place to explore the outdoors, walking or running around the Downs, or simply relaxing with a family picnic.
Most of the area comprises chalk grassland with some stretches of woodland breaking up the vast expanses.
Dunstable Downs is the highest point in the east of England giving views across five counties.
Kite flying is very popular here, with lots of high points giving plenty of wind currents to keep kites in the air.
Waymarked walks are available such as the Stone Age Walk past ancient burial mounds.
Special activities provided at various times during the year such as school holidays.
Dogs welcomed, dog bins on site.
The Chilterns Gateway Centre acts as the visitor centre for the Dunstable Downs, and contains a small shop and cafe.
Access via the B451 west of Dunstable, Bedfordshire. Pay & display parking.
