Newmarket Food & Shops
Compact
Newmarket is very much a regional market town, catering mainly for the people who live and work in the area. A very compact town, all the shopping areas are closely located within walking distance of each other - you never have far to go.
As you can expect, there are lots of horse related shops, as well as clothing, food and housewares.
Food
Check out Powters Sausages on Wellington street for tradtional Newmarket sausages.
A good range of pubs, cafes and takeaways are located in the main shopping area, and if you want fine dining head for the various hotels located a short distance away near The Gallops.
The National Horse Racing Museum located just behind the Jockey Club has a good cafe on site.
Accessible by road and rail. Gets very, very busy on race days, and parking in town is limited.
