The Place to Eat, John Lewis

Hidden cafe with sea views (b,l; £)

The Place to Eat

Being tucked away on the top floor of the John Lewis department store this cafe is a bit of a hidden option well away from the bustle of Edinburgh's streets: so bit of a local's choice for a bite to eat or a coffee.

Leith Walk from John Lewis

Like the store its food (soups, sandwiches, cakes, coffee) is dependably good quality and reasonable value, but it's the views that really make this cafeteria-style cafe worth hunting out.
