Cafes

This is an analogue photo (35mm)

You'll find cafes everywhere in Edinburgh, including very good ones in all its main museums. One central cafe of particular interest, to Harry Potter fans at least, is the Elephant House.

For a high-end experience in the New Town try high-tea at the Balmoral Hotel.

Loudons

Pubs

It's also worth knowing that though they many not have any baked goods, most pubs are also a good spot for a non-alcoholic drink during the day; many have decent coffee.

Museums

All the national museums also have good cafes. Since the museums are all free, their cafes are open to anyone and often very pleasant.
