New Town Cafes & Pubs

Cafe Royal Bar

No part of Edinburgh has quite the cafe culture of the New Town, since this is where locals will meet up and where shoppers who've dropped go to revive themselves.

As a result, there are cafe's hidden within all sorts of other businesses, particularly bookshops and department stores, in addition to the many stand-alone cafes big-and-small.

In terms of pubs, two words cover most New Town options: Rose Street. For swankier bars, the place to go is the parallel road, George Street.
