Kalamaja Museum

Housed in an angular modernist house built in the 1930s Kalamaja Museum, tells the history of the suburb through the stories of its people.

Stretching just northwest of the Old Town the suburb of Kalamaja is an intriguiging neighbourhood with a vey mixed history. At its core is a peaceful residential area of traditional timber houses, but on its fringes, particularly at the northern, shoreline end of the district, it’s characterized by crumbling industrial sites – factories, railway yards, disused port facilities – and now several post-industrial gentrification projects, including the Noblessner Quarter and Telliskivi Creative City
