Peak Lookout

Al fresco international dining on the Peak ($$)

Tourists flock to Victoria Peak for the views, and rightly so, but people in the know come to The Peak also for the Peak Lookout, a laid-back restaurant with an outdoor terrace. Occupying a former tram station, it retains its historic character, with stone walls, timber-trussed soaring ceiling and wooden floor.

The outdoor terrace, surrounded by lush greenery, affords glimpses of the South China Sea beyond Aberdeen, but a window-clad room extending into the garden is a fine alternative on humid or rainy days. The menu offers a wide range of American, Chinese, Indian and Southeast Asian dishes, from pad Thai noodles and burgers to grilled steaks and tandoori (there’s also a kid’s menu).
