Eating & Restaurants

Eating Ramen in Japan

There are so many places to eat in Japan that half the fun is being adventurous: just walking down the street and picking what looks good - taking into account your Japanese language ability and whether a place has an English language menu, a picture menu or plastic meal models outside.

If you feel a need to plan ahead and make a booking you’ll usually need a Japanese speaker to help you out if calling by phone.

Japanese food

Japan is totally obsessed with food & drink. For international visitors, it’s a Foodie paradise.

While many first-time visitors will have tried some Japanese food in their home countries, there is a totally mind-blowing variety out there once you get to Japan.

There are a lot of places to eat - and if a place is not good or is over-priced, it goes out of business pretty quickly as there’s so much competition.
