Naranj
Modern Lebanese cuisine (l,d; $$)
Naranj is a top-whack Lebanese bistro-style restaurant that's become very popular very fast, to the extent that it's best to make a reservation if you want to dine here in the evening. The restaurant is bright and modern, with big windows.
The food at Naranj is not only extremely good, but also offers a change from the usual. Main dishes include eggplant with bulghur wheat, lentils and almonds (95dh), and for dessert there's a halwa (sesame sweet) cream (75dh). Or just pig out on a huge plate of mixed mezze (110–165dh).
Beware of touts trying it on in the streets leading to Naranj: if someone offers to show you the way (possibly giving a false impression of being connected to the restaurant), you are NOT obliged to pay them for it, and indeed should not do so.
