Entreprise Bouchaib Complexe d'Artisanat is a huge multi-level department store selling anything from cosmetics to carpets at supposedly fixed prices.

They sell leatherware, ceramics, cosmetics, clothes and jewellery, and loads and loads of carpets.

Located a stone's throw from the Kasbah Mosque and Saadian Tombs, the Complexe d’Artisanat may lack the romance or atmosphere of the souk, and prices may be higher, but shopping here has certain advantages.

Firstly, prices are marked on each item. To some extent, especially on larger things such as carpets, there is room for negotiation, with discounts and so on often available (so don’t forget to ask). But the important thing is that you get an immediate idea of the maximum going rate, so even if you then end up going to the souk and haggling for something similar, you'll know what price to beat.
