Café du Livre

Laid-back café, bar and library (l,d; $$)

Café du Livre

The Café du Livre is a café-bar with cultural events, and football on the telly, a chilled space to hang out in, and a great place to meet hip Marrakshis.

The Café du Livre is a place where regulars come in for a quiet drink, or a chat, or to practice their English. There are board games, and a big library of books to read, swap or buy. There are smoking and non-smoking areas, and they show English and European football on the TV. A lot of the local English-teaching community hang out here, and so do a lot of their students, a great mix of people, and everyone’s happy to chat with newcomers.

Café du Livre

Food is mostly of the snacky variety, with tapas (many of which are more like Lebanese mezze, at 25dh a portion, or three for 70dh), or they have chicken wings, toasties, salads and burgers. They also do pasta dishes (50–75dh).
