Bicycle
Big but chaotic network
Mexico City has a vast network of bicycle lanes but pedal with extreme caution as you navigate the daily chaos. Bicigratis kiosks along Avenida Paseo de la Reforma (several near Chapultepec Park) lend free bikes for three hours, however, you’ll need to leave a passport or drivers’ license.
If you have a credit card you can sign up for the city-run bicycle-sharing system EcoBici, which has stations in centrally located neighborhoods. Numerous private bicycle-sharing outfits, such as Mobike and Uber’s Jump operate in Mexico City as well.
Every Sunday from 8am to 2pm Avenida Paseo de la Reforma closes to cars, making for a pleasant traffic-free bike ride or jog from Chapultepec Park to the Centro Histórico.
