Museo Casa de Leon Trotsky

Museum-Home of Leon Trotsky

Casa de Trotsky

The exiled Bolshevik revolutionary Leon Trotsky met his death here in the studio of his former home, which was converted into a fascinating museum.

Mexico granted Trotsky political asylum after he was expelled from the Soviet Union under the Stalin regime. On exhibit are original furnishings and personal belongings that were found on that fateful day when an assassin bludgeoned Trotsky with an ice axe.

Trotsky and his wife, Natalia Sedova, briefly befriended artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, who lived in the nearby Casa Azul.
