Latin Quarter

Montréal rue St-Denis 379

Montreal’s Latin Quarter gets it's name not from South American culture in the area (though there is some), but from the Latin originally used at nearby universities.

Today's students also have an substantial effect on the area, which bustles with cozy cafés, boisterous bars and affordable restaurants.

Many line Rue St. Denis creating a francophone mirror-image of Crescent Street on the other side of Downtown.

It's also an easy walk from the Gay Village so having a night out that spans both is easy.
