Lake Hayes Walkway

Gorgeous walk near Queenstown (3hrs)

Lake Hayes and Coronet Peak.

This easy walk at Lake Hayes, between Arrowtown and Queenstown, is a popular jaunt with locals.

Either park at Lake Hayes Pavilion on SH6 (this entry’s map location), or at the flat parkland at the Arrowtown end of the lake.

The 8km walk will take 2-3hrs, offer gorgeous mountain and lake views, plus time on wetland boardwalking. Head out in either direction.

Lake Hayes is renowned for its autumn colours.
