An Old Nice Walking Tour
A little bit of Italy in France (2 hr walk)
Located at the eastern end of the Promenade des Anglais, just beyond the parkland of Jardin Albert 1er, the triangular-shaped old quarter of Nice, or Vieux Nice, has very Italian feel to it. This is not surprising really as until 1860 Nice, and indeed the whole County of Nice, was actually part of Italy!
Exploring this district is a key part of enjoying the fascinating city of Nice and this Old Town Walking Tour will give you a true flavour of what Nice is all about in a single day – have fun!
Before you begin: Start your itinerary by calling at the Tourist Office on the Promenade des Anglais and obtain town plan.
Vieux Nice is flat so walking is easy although there is quite a climb up to Château Hill (lift/elevator or Tourist Train available) if you choose to include this in your walk. Check out my Modern Nice In-A-Day itinerary if you wish to do that.
