Huaraz Rock Climbing

Natural rock or outdoor gym

Huaraz Climbing Gym

If you’re into rock climbing, then Huaraz is the place to be. There are several great places where routes have been bolted on natural rock and there’s also a new climbing wall in town.

The most popular climbing area is Los Olivos on the west edge of town, an easy taxi ride from anywhere in Huaraz. The Outdoor Project has an informative blog with lots of details about Los Olivos.

There is also a small cliff (photo below) with 7 bolted routes and easy access to the top for top-roping. It’s on the road between Marcará and the Chancos hot springs.

If you want to try the new gym, all the info is in the photo below. It’s also the map location for this entry.

Huaraz Gym Info

If you didn’t bring your own climbing gear, there are several places to rent in Huaraz.
