Machu Picchu Route 3C

Grand Cavern route

For this route, choose Circuit 3 and then Route 3-C: Great Cavern Route. This is only available in the high season, from April through December.

This route is almost identical to 3A except instead of going up to the top of Huayna Picchu, it goes around the back via a cave with a moon temple that few people get to see.

This is the best options for people who want to see the famous Machu Picchu, but who also want to find a quiet place with fewer people.

Besides the Inca Bridge route (1D), this is the only spot where you’re likely to find peace and quiet at Machu Picchu.
