Killiecrankie
Battle site, pretty river gorge & bungee jumping!
Like Dunkeld, Killiecrankie, was the site of bloody slaughter in 1689, though this time the Jacobites came out on top. A visitor centre has details along with much info on the abundant natural history of the gorge below.
From the visitor centre it’s a 600 meter walk to Soldier's Leap, a spot where a fleeing soldier is said to have dramatically leapt over the gorge to safety. From here you can follow a path 1.5km south to a footbridge for great views over the River Garry…. or if you fancy a leap of your own there’s bungee jumping nearby. Run by Highland Fling a 40-meter jump off a bridge costs £89: book online.
