Aviemore & Cairngorms Nat Park

Dull resort town with fabulous surroundings

Caledonian Pines

Though not an attractive town, Aviemore vies with Fort William as Scotland’s outdoor's capital, and the attractions are similar. Here Cairngorms National Park - Britain’s highest landmass – rises all around, with walking and mountain biking trails radiating in every direction. There’s good climbing and rafting too.

Lochan

Cairn Gorm Mountain with its mountain railway is the centerpiece and great for summer sightseeing, while in winter it provides access to reasonable downhill skiing and excellent backcountry skiing (ski touring).
