Good fresh food to go
Tucked away in the corner of the market, this small deli is handy for imaginative sandwiches, a superior alternative to the plastic box variety from Marks and Spencer's across the way. A dazzling array of sandwiches are cut and made to order, with fresh, often local, ingredients and at little difference in price.
To be recommended are the Whitby crab combinations, ham with ginger chutney, various patés, or speciality veggie options. As an alternative, create your own sandwich from the display.
They will also prepare a variety of salad boxes. (Perhaps with a pork pie or slice of homemade quiche?)
TIP If it's a nice day, consider a picnic in Dean's Park or on the riverside via motor boat from King's Staith.

Order beforehand (phone before 10am for 11.45 collection) and everything for a fresh picnic hamper will be put together for you ready to pick up. Various selections available (including veggie) at prices from £6-£15 per person.
