Betty's Stonegate
Upmarket tea in historic Stonegate (b,l; ££)
Now owned by the people behind Betty's, this café has the same menu as its big sister.
Unfortunately, it also shares the same prices.
This is a crooked medieval building with a cosy atmosphere above the shop. And you get to wait indoors on the creaking stairs instead of in the street. Open fire in winter.
In many ways it's a preferable venue to the main café (once you get a table) because of its historic location in Stonegate. (Try for a window seat if you can).
TIP The downstairs shop has some teas and other items that make excellent small gifts.
