Twofold cycling nirvana

Friendly and helpful local bike shop with repair service. The main showrooms are now out of town off Fulford Road, but they also have a shop in town at the train station (Outside, on the left of the main entrance.). There is also a repair shop in Bishopthorpe Road.

Both sell accessories (bikes and a larger selection of accessories at station), but only the branch at the station also has hire bikes.

Bike hire can be for an hour or two, or for a day or more. Bikes are mainly robust Dutch Gazelles, with some other lighter bikes (Ridgeback hybrids) for rides beyond town. Brompton folding bikes also available at same rates. Good feature of their hire service is that they include the loan of helmet, lights and lock.

TIP Don't forget to ask about the council's free York Cycling Map.
