Tapas
Fine-dining with stellar sea views (l,d; $$$)
A reliable romantic dining option on the South Coast, but also a place with a bit of a buzz, this two-tier restaurant is also a top spot to kick off the evening with a cocktail before heading off elsewhere. Cocktail prices here (from BD$16) are better value than at most fine-dining establishments.
Tapas serves tapas – obviously, but also offers a-la-carte dining, with one of the island’s most extensive menus. The plentiful and varied tapas dishes, which range from albondiga (Spanish spicy meatballs) to shark fritters with sweet chilli sauce or spring rolls, also double up as starters on the a-la-carte menu, and pasta dishes (as either starter or main) abound.
A real plus is that you can choose your table when you book online. If you want to hear the waves as you eat, pick a table for two upstairs by the balcony, offering stellar views, or downstairs by the boardwalk – a good place for a stroll afterwards to help digest the meal.
