Cornil
Ruined castle overlooking the Corrèze
Not far from Aubazine on the road from Brive to Tulle the spectacular site of the ruined château and Romanesque church of the small village of Cornil suddenly comes into view above the road.
All that is left of the castle is four storey square tower which, despite its ruinous condition, gives a good impression of how imposing this fortress overlooking the Corrèze river must have been.
Adjacent to the tower the Romanesque church stands proud on the bluff and, unlike the castle, is still very much in use by the villagers.
Nearest Tourist Office is at Tulle
