Sheringham Park
Giant park for walking, running & wildlife
Covering around 1000 acres of woodland and open countryside, Sheringham Park is one of the largest open spaces in North Norfolk. In late spring, the big attraction are the colourful displays of rhododendrons and azeleas which cover the area closest to the visitor centre. Lots of wildlife to spot including three species of deer and firecrests, Britain’s smallest birds.
Walking
Explore woodland, parkland and take a long stroll down to the clifftops overlooking the North Sea.
There are four waymarked trails with distances ranging from one to five miles, with plenty of places to stop and relax. Some are tarmaced flat paths suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Other options include a 7 mile woodland and coastal walk passing through farmland and along the cliff edge, and a walk exploring the heritage of Humphrey Repton who designed the parkland in 1812.
Running
For a more active visit, you can try out the challenging running trails which cross the parkland and include hills and coastal routes.
Activities & cafe
Children’s activities are held during the holiday season.
Cafe, toilets, visitor centre. Dogs on leads welcome in certain areas of the park such as the woodland, parkland and clifftop.
