Lowestoft

Lowestoft beach

Lowestoft is the furthest point east on the UK mainland.

An extensive Blue Flag beach with golden sand and lifeguards present throughout the summer season, makes this a popular family destination. The shallow, gently sloping beach is definitely great for kids.

Two piers stretch out to sea, offering good views and some amusements. Victorian sea front gardens line the long promenade, providing a gentle stroll all the way to Pakefield and eventually ending in a mass of sand dunes.

The Princess Royal Fountains with 74 indivdual jets of water are lovely to watch, as well as offering fun to kids.

Head up to Ness Point to discover the most easterly point in England, and the first place to see the sunrise in the UK.

Nearby attractions Pleasurewood Hills theme park complete with white knuckle rides, Africa Alive Safari Park home to 80 species of African animals, East Anglia Transport Museum - a working museum with trams, buses and light railway.
