Lowestoft is very much divided into two areas - the main shopping and entertainment area where you can find a variety of high street and local retailers, as well as cinemas and the Lowestoft Marina theatre which has a changing programe of touring plays, musicals and musicians.
The beach area and amusements such as gardens, play areas are mainly to be found to the south of the main shopping area.
The railway station and the river bridge are very much the dividing points between the two sections.
There are plenty of cafes and pubs scattered around the South Beach area, and in the high street mainly fast food and casual dining.
Lowestoft is 146 miles from London via the A11. It is served by train services from Norwich.
