Verulanium

Explore the remains of a Roman city

Set with a pretty park close to the city centre, this is the site of one of the UK’s earliest Roman cities - which was even destroyed by Boudica during her revolt against the Romans.

There are extensive Roman remains to be explored. The amphitheatre at Verulanium is the only visible theatre of its kind in the UK.

The nearby museum contains finds from archeological digs at Verulanium including stunning mosaics.
