Traditionally Hertfordshire has been mainly rural, but these days many people commute from locations in Hertfordshire into London.
St Albans, Hertford and Welwyn Garden City are the main urban areas within Hertfordshire.
Prominent tourist attractions include the Roman remains at Verulanium in St Albans as well as St Albans Cathedral.
Transport
The A1 links London with locations like St Albans and Hatfield further north into Hertfordshire, as does the M25, and M1. Train access is also possible.
