St Albans

St Alban Street Bunting

A city with a long history dating back to Roman times, St Albans has lots of interesting historic buildings to discover including the Norman St Albans Cathedral and the remains of the settlement of Verulanium.

Named after Britain’s first saint, Alban, it is now a thriving small city with good shopping facilities.

It is a popular commuter location for people working in London.

Exploring

Start your visit to St Albans with a visit to Verulanium to discover the historic Roman remains including an Amphitheatre and Museum.

Relax afterwards with a short walk around the pretty parkland.

Head over to the Market Square to choose from one of the many pubs and cafes for lunch.

Spend the afternoon within the main part of St Albans exploring the Abbey and market square.

St Albans Tour Guides offer regular walks around town.

Cinema

The Art Deco cinema on London Road dates back to 1908 and was revamped in 2014 to restore its 1930’s appearance.

Transport

Accessible by public transport, trains from Kings Cross and by car. The M25, M1 and A1 are within a short distance of the city.

Parking is easily accessible from the town centre, as is the railway station offering access to London Kings Cross.
