Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art

Two buildings & a sculpture park

Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art

The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art lies a little trek out from Edinburgh's centre (about 1.5 miles from Princes Street), but one that's worth it for modern art lovers who can enjoy a selection of it's 5,000 pieces collection.

Big names include Picasso, Mackintosh and Hockney, but often it's the very good temporary exhibitions that capture the imagination.

There's also a good shop, an excellent cafe and some interesting sculptures scattered in the grounds.
