A Water-of-Leith Wander

Riverside Stockbridge & Dean Village (1–3hr walk)

Water of Leith

This itinerary leaves Edinburgh's centre to explore some hidden and beautiful green spaces along the Water of Leith, a small river, and is best done in good weather.

It starts and ends at a bus stop on Hannover Street in The New Town near Urban Angel.

The walk (3miles/4.5km) itself takes about an hour, though you might well spend longer if you take time to explore the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Skipping the buses and walking the entire loop, will take at least 2 hours (5miles/8km).

Water of Leith Wander

Morning

Take the north-bound #27 (Silverknowes) or #23 (Trinity) bus from the stop near Urban Angel.
