INTERESTS & ACTIVITIES

Greyfriars Bobby

Edinburgh is strong on sights and to visit them all you'd probably need at least a week.

The sections below should help you choose, but don't forget the National Museum of Scotland which is pretty strong in just about every field, making it Edinburgh's most unmissable attraction.

Outdoors

From after-work joggers to weekend picnickers, Edinburghers are well-served by options outdoors in the city's many parks & gardens. But for visitors the real plus point is that many of these are attractive or wild enough to be sights in their own right.

If the weather's good, don’t miss Arthur's Seat and if that’s whetted your appetite, try a number of walking and cycling trails which connect various parts of town in traffic-free ways; often following former railway lines.
