French Riviera
The French Riviera or Côte d’Azur used to be known throughout the world as a fabulous playground on the shores of the Mediterranean where the rich and famous gather in exclusive places to sun themselves and generally have a great time. While there are still exclusive places like Monaco-Monte-Carlo of course, nowadays there is room for everyone and whole coast is a very popular holiday destination.

The Riviera can be very busy, especially during July and August, and it is worth trying to visit outside of the main season if you can.
There is no official boundary to the French Riviera. However, people usually consider the Riviera as the coastline from St Tropez in the Var to Menton in the Alpes-Maritimes on the Italian border where the Italian Riviera takes over in Liguria.
