DeKalb County

Automobile Museum

Culture and heritage define scenic DeKalb County.

Sandra D's Italian Garden is a quaint and cozy restaurant with an Italian ambience and great selection of Italian specialties.

Nestled in the countryside is the Spencerville Covered Bridge, built in 1873, which spans the St. Joseph River. Still open to car traffic, it’s also easy to park and take a walk on the wooden bridge.

Visit the Cord Auburn Duesenberg Automobile Museum, located in the company's Art Deco-style building.

Swing a club at either (or both) the 36-hole Ernie Schrock designed Bridgewater Golf Club in Auburn with its five sets of tees ranging from 5,107 to 7,272 yards. Or at the historic Garrett Country Club in Garrett. Opened in 1917 as a private club designed by Tom Bendelow of Chicago, the 18 hole course is now open to the public.

While in DeKalb be sure to visit Auburn, the county seat and Sechler's Fine Pickles in St. Joe where they hold a Pickle Festival each year.
