Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site

Lovely gardens & a historic manse

Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site

History buffs will love visiting bhpsite.org, once the 23rd President of the United States. The 10,000 sq.ft. Italianate Victorian family home of Indiana’s only President. Located on Delaware Street with its many wonderful historic homes, the BHPS is part of Indy's Old Northside Neighborhood.

Built in 1875, the three-story, 16-room house is filled with 75-80% of the original furnishings belonging to the Harrison family including paintings, furniture, and other artifacts such as political memorabilia such as ribbons, medals and trinkets that belonged to both William Henry Harrison and Benjamin Harrison. The letter collections dates almost two centuries from 1777 to the 1940s. There's beautifully painted China in an array of patterns, vasess, pottery, clothing and more.

The reconstructed carriage house, now the Welcome Center, has a different exhibits that change throughout the year, as does the 3rd floor ballroom exhibit space.
