La Maison Arabe
Top hotel offers two top eating options (l,d; $$$)
Before it was the best hotel in town, La Maison Arabe was Marrakesh's best restaurant. Specifically aimed at foreign visitors, it opened in 1946, and guests included the likes of Winston Churchill and Charles de Gaulle (not together).
Today, the Maison Arabe still offers some of the best food in town, and you don't have to be a guest at the hotel to eat there. It has two separate restaurants, both excellent.
Le Restaurant serves fine Moroccan cuisine. They’ll have Marrakesh’s signature dish, tanjia (see our review of Mechoui Alley for an explanation of what that is), two or three couscous dishes, and an assortment of tajines, including one fish and one vegetarian. The best tables are al fresco by the pool, except it it looks likely to rain.
